CLASS 1070 – PARCHMENT AND FLOWER NOTE CARDS
Botanical artist BARBARA HANFT and heirloom quilter CIL DEMING have a serious crafting bug and love to share it. CLASS 1071 – LEARN TO KNIT (OR REMEMBER HOW!)
After 30 years of teaching, PEGGY CLIFFORD has joyfully retired to the Outer Banks. During her time in the classroom, she taught many students to knit; their pieces were put together and donated to Project Linus. She also sells custom knitted children’s clothes on her Etsy site. Instruction in this class is designed for the beginner but can also serve as a refresher course. You’ll get your start by making a colorful dishcloth – both beautiful and practical! CLASS FILLED CLASS 1072 – THE ART OF BASKET WEAVING * Two Nights *
Basket weaving is a craft dating back thousands of years, yet it’s uncommon to find artists in this field today. KIM PRINCE and CAROL SWAN are notable exceptions! Through their business, Tasket-A-Basket, they weave varied and colorful creations that are works of art as well as practical for daily use. Join them for a two-night class to learn basic basket weaving techniques and create your own 9”x8” napkin basket, personalized with special finishing touches. CLASS 1073 – WINE GLASS PAINTING
There’s something special about hand painted wine glasses! GLEN BALDWIN has been a crafty gal for years and took up painting wine glasses, just for fun, a few years ago. She’ll guide you through the basics of doing it yourself, starting with a simple nature design. Once class is over, you’ll have your own unique creation and the know how to paint more, either matching your first or using your own ideas. CLASS 1074 – EASY FABRIC COASTERS
CAROL POWELL is an amateur quilter and has made countless coasters over the years. It’s not only a great way to use the inevitable fabric scraps, but they also make great gifts! It’s fun and easy, with endless color possibilities, and Carol will provide everything you need to learn how to create your own. Class size is limited to 10 students and there is an additional fee of $5 for supplies. Thursday, Feb 7.
CLASS FILLED CLASS 1075 –QUILTING FOR BEGINNERS * Two consecutive nights, 6:30 start time *
Yes, you can – create your own quilted masterpiece! SANDY FEYRER, DEB HUNTON, and ETTA LANUTI team up to teach you accurate cutting, piecing, sewing, and finishing. You’ll see examples of many different projects you can make using simple techniques. They will supply cutting mats, tools, and batting, plus will have three sewing machines available for use. YOU should bring (1) a yard each of three complementary fabrics – one in a light tone, one medium, and one dark – and (2) a spool of thread. You’re also welcome to bring your own sewing machine, if desired (as long as you already know how to use it!). Class size is limited to 8 people and will begin early, at 6:30 PM. Find your talent for floral creation! Don’t think you have any? Chances are good that LILIAS MORRISON can teach you. She’s a long-time floral explorer and creator, and a talented member of the Flower Guild at All Saints Church. She’ll bring lots of colorful choices for you to work with as she demonstrates the basics of flowers, foliage, and form. You’ll learn to make original floral creations for any occasion, to gift to others or enjoy yourself – starting with the one you bring home from class.
